The NHS celebrates its 75th birthday this year and to celebrate, Claire has some exciting plans to share. After so many running races and the London Marathon 2022, she’s continuing to fundraise for NHS Charities Together.
After taking on the London Marathon for the 3rd time for NHS Charities Together in 2022, I don’t want my running to stop there!
I have some exciting plans that I hope to share with you soon, but for now, In 2024 I’ll be taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon for the charity!
So why have I chosen NHS Charities Together?
It all began back in 2011. At 13 years old I had a spinal fusion to correct a 65 degree, S-shaped curve in my spine. I’m now complete with two metal rods and a bunch of screws either side of my spine.
Now, although I’m not particularly flexible, my life has been totally transformed as a result of the operation and the team at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge.
I was never the sporty person at school, but having come out the other side of this operation, I wanted to prove everyone wrong. That’s how I began running – and how I’m in the position I am today. I may be slow, but I haven’t looked back since!
The work of the NHS of course stretches far beyond this. They supported my grandparents through a variety of different challenges – we all use the NHS. It’s amazing that despite the world-circumstances we find ourselves in, the NHS are still there 24/7, for everyone.
How can you get involved?
Between 1st July and 31st August, for every website audit, we will be making a £50 donation to NHS Charities Together. Send us a message with some brief details about your website to get started or read the terms here.
If you’re not looking for a new or refreshed website, I would hugely appreciate any donations to my JustGiving page here.
